About the Trainer
Matthew Smith is a renowned horseman training out of Warwick Farm in Sydney. He has trained Group 1 stars such as Fierce Impact, Nimalee, and Hurtle Myrtle who shows up in this filly’s pedigree.

Fierce Impact was a Japanese-bred three-time Group 1-winning miler here in Australia after starting his career in the UK. He won the VRC Cantala Stakes, Toorak Handicap, and the Makybe Diva Stakes.

Sire: Jacquinot
Jacquinot was a spectacular racehorse with five wins from 12 starts. He competed at the highest level from day one. After a brave third in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes as a two-year-old, he fully matured at three, capturing four Group victories, including the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes and Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes.

He carries the dominant Australian sprinting blood of Encosta de Lago and his dam is a sister to Group 1 winner Inference and multiple Group 2 winner Dragon Leap. This provides him with a deep genetic foundation. It was not surprising to see several studs competing for his services.

This filly is from his first crop of yearlings to be offered to the market, and he is amongst the favourites for Champion First Season Sire honours. His yearlings have been commanding premium prices at the sales.

Dam: Phantomix (by Teofilo)
Though lightly raced, Phantomix showed undeniable natural ability, missing a win by just 0.3L.

Her female line is of the highest quality. Her second dam, Whisper Bay, is a Listed winner and a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Hurtle Myrtle.

Adding further depth to the pedigree, her third dam, Winds of Peace, is a full sister to the Group 1 Golden Slipper winner Star Watch. Being so closely related to the winner of Australia’s most prestigious two-year-old race strongly indicates this family’s capacity to produce elite, precocious speed.

Nicks:
This pedigree is a masterclass in Australian sprinter-mile breeding. It carries the quintessential Danehill blood on both sides, layered with monumental influences like Encosta de Lago, Zabeel, Redoute’s Choice, and Galileo. A standout feature is the full-brother cross of Sadler’s Wells and Fairy King, highlighting a meticulously planned mating.

While the sireline provides brilliant speed, the addition of Teofilo brings stamina and class, creating a perfectly balanced profile suited for middle distances. Stemming from a highly active family that continues to produce winners, she is bred to feature prominently in the two and three-year-old Group races.

The Filly
While she still has plenty of room to grow, her well-developed hindquarters already promise an explosive turn of foot. She is an outstanding mover, a very agile filly. She has a remarkably supple back, deep hind-leg reach, and fluid full-body coordination. Her bouncy, rhythmic walk suggests she will possess a lethal, sharp acceleration on the turf.
