Horse Overview
2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale Purchase
We went to the sale with every intention to buy a Home Affairs colt and given the competition and big prices for his progeny we were very lucky to pick up our Home Affairs x Ciarlet colt for the relatively modest price of $140,000.
Our belief is that Home Affairs is one of the most talented colts to race and go to stud in Australia in a while. He was a champion 3yo sprinter thrashing a quality field in the Coolmore, then came back next prep and defeated world champion Nature Strip a feat not many can lay claim too. The dam of our colt Ciarlet is a full sister to champion racehorse and stallion Zoustar, and has already thrown 2 winners in Verbil and Working Capital and an unraced trial winner Until Dawn trained by Ciaron Maher.
We believe our colt was one of the better of the Home Affair progeny at the sale and our trainers Ben, Will & JD Hayes of Lindsay Park racing very much agreed:
Ben Hayes – “we thought this guy was a really athletic colt, a lot were heavy and strong this guy was just an athlete. If we can keep him a stallion we could have a lot of fun, he’s a ripper”
This colt is an athlete with a stallion’s pedigree, a dam with a proven record of winners and our trainers Lindsay Park racing have trained the most 2yo winners so far this season, we could not tick more boxes if we tried. Come racing with us and give yourself a chance at the huge prizemoney on Magic Millions raceday but also the possibility of racing a future stallion.
