Horse Overview
This colt is by one of the world’s brightest and exciting stallions in Too Darn Hot. The Darley shuttler has created a huge impression with breeders in both hemispheres with the likes of Broadsiding being crowned Australia’s 2yo of the year, dual European G1 winner Fallen Angel and having already sired 17 individual stakes winning horses with his eldest crop only being three! It was announced by his stud that he won’t be shuttling back to Australia for this year’s breeding season meaning access to the son of Dubawi is sure to be limited for Southern Hemisphere breeders. This year his yearlings averaged $285k at the four main Australian sales as a second season sire.
To go with a headline sire this colt also has a deep pedigree and is the second foal of a four time winning and listed placed Stravinsky mare no less. The dam, Prosecco, is a half sister to the one time NZ Bloodstock Filly of the Year in Dijon Bleu and G3 placed Passione. The page is littered with black type throughout the third dam with several high class performers including So Pristine, Restored, Swift Witness, Terminology and Momack.
The two-year-old breezed up in a slick 10.59 making him an obvious play taking into consideration the breeding. We still see plenty of improvement in the colt as he continues to mature and learn his craft, as you can see in his work he still is showing signs of greenness. He will look to fly over to Australia in around a fortnight’s time and aim to be into work in around four to six.
