Horse Overview

This colt is the smokey of our 2024 crop of yearlings. Born and bred at Wyndolm Park in Ballarat, this colt will run through brick walls. He is the Joel Selwood of our draft! Whilst most yearlings were feeling the pinch after a week at the sales complex, this colt was thriving and looked fitter and stronger each day we inspected him.

Charlotte just loved his ‘Can Do’ attitude and our breaker in Mornington said he has a “Bomb Proof” temperament. He is a medium sized colt (will end up being approx 16hh) with an athletic physique (not too heavy or thick set) that should see him push out beyond 1600m.

Pedigree wise, he ticks all the boxes for a horse that will run a mile on his ear. By the electric EVEREST winner YES YES YES (pictured below) out of a young city placed CAMELOT mare called CAMELLE, he has a beautiful mix of speed and stamina which you need to possess to win a Caulfield Guineas!

The “Camelot” factor is a fascinating one. Himself an EPSOM DERBY winner, he has produced many star stayers around the world being the sire of 61 Group/Stakes winners thus far. There are very few Camelot mares at stud in Australia (Camelot only shuttled to Australia for a couple of years) so it’s unique bloodline.

This colt’s dam (CAMELLE) was a talented mare. She ran second at Caulfield and was beaten less than 3.5L in the Group 2 Lets Elope Stakes at Flemington. She probably didn’t quite reach the heights expected of her but she had plenty of natural ability.
