Race Series - Trainer/Syndicator FAQs
The Thoroughbred Sales Race Series is 400 races over a 3 year period that carry a $10,000 bonus, totalling $4,000,000.
These bonuses will be eligible for horses that transact through the Thoroughbred Sales platform from January 1st 2025 as yearlings and race as 2yr, 3yr and 4yr olds.
Thoroughbred Sales has teamed up with various racing bodies across certain states of Australia to invest in racing throughout Australia and to support our account holders by establishing the Thoroughbred Sales Race Series (the TS Race Series). We will contribute up to AU$4,000,000 of Australia-wide prize money over a 3-year period to the winning horses of agreed thoroughbred races across Australia who are associated with us, with a view to:
- boosting thoroughbred prize money throughout Australia;
- reward our trainers, syndicators and owners who are TS account holders and who transact their ownership purchases via our platform; and
- reducing potential loss on investment or increasing profit on investment by providing additional funds to our trainers and owners that can be reinvested in new ownership stakes.
The TS Race Series, in essence, will involve us nominating approximately 400 thoroughbred races throughout Australia over a period of 3 years, geared towards mid-week, provincial and country race meets, and awarding prize money of at least AU$10,000 to the winner of those races if the winners are eligible TS-linked horses (see below).
How Many – There will be approximately 400 TS Race Series races over a 3-year period. Currently, its intended that there be approximately 75 races in the first year of the TS Race Series, approximately 125 in the second year and approximately 200 in the third year. We will publish on our website the name and dates (and other relevant details) of all those races as soon as practicable.

August 1st, 2025, to 31st July 2026 | 75 x $10,000 Bonuses |

August 1st, 2027, to 31st July 2028 | 200 x $10,000 Bonuses |
Where – The number of races run that form part of the TS Race Series in each state will be determined by us prior to 31 July in each year based on the number of Eligible TS Horses (as defined below) with a trainer or current owner/syndicate based in that state and registered by TS as a then -current account holder/subscriber, measured against the number of Eligible TS Horses Horses at that time with a trainer or current owner/syndicate registered by TS as an account holder but based outside that state, as a proportion of the approximate 400 TS Race Series races. All horses are allowed to run in any state and still be eligible for the $10,000 bonus.

An ‘Eligible TS Horse’ means a horse that satisfies the following criteria when it wins the relevant TS Series Race:
- a minimum of 75% of the initial value of the ownership stake sold in that horse by the purchasing trainer /owner was transacted via the TS digital platform payment system; and
- if there has been a subsequent sale of any portion of the ownership of that horse, a minimum of 50.1% of the ownership stake in that horse must have been transacted through the TS digital platform payment system; and
- the trainer of the horse remains an account holder/subscriber on the TS platform; and
- a TS account relating to the horse is then active (and all fees payable to TS relating to the horse, including the 1% TS Race Series fee and subscription fees, have been paid as and when payable).
Prize money payments are also subject to each racing jurisdiction’s rules for prize money payments, including return payments for deemed non-runners past the race date. This includes horses that have returned a positive swab.
TS will be entering into partnerships with one or more state and/or territory thoroughbred racing bodies, pursuant to which we will utilise that racing body’s standard owners payment system to pay out the prize money to the winning connection of TS Race Series races in their state, after receipt of the prize money from us and after that racing body confirms whether an Eligible TS Horse won that race. Unless there is a dispute on eligibility, payment will occur as soon as reasonably practicable.
In states and territories where no such partnerships exist, we will implement a payment system directly via our platform to the relevant account holder once we are satisfied that all eligibility requirements have been met (including any invoicing requirements).

Western Australia – $10,000 bonus will be paid via RWA standard prize money payment methods
