Shamus Award is the Cox Plate winning son of Snitzel who currently sits in the top five stallions in Australia by Group One winners per runner. He also out performs the likes of Toronado, Street Boss, Written Tycoon and Dundeel when it comes to stakes winners per runner. The stallion has been prominent in staying features since arriving at stud with his progeny taking out races such as the Caulfield Cup, Australia Cup, Makybe Diva Stakes, Australian Oaks and Queensland Derby.

As for the dam side this colt hails from a classy staying European family with the dam being by Bated Breath and closely related to G3 winner Arctic Sound along with multiple other blacktype performers. Well related European mares have been playing a massive role in the Australian racing ranks for some time now with the best examples being Tofane, Militarize and Ceowulf. Our stable is not without success from these types of families with the likes of Linebacker, Snow In May, Stroke of Luck and Benaud all descendants of stout European dams.

This colt is a classy, well proportioned individual with plenty of scope and improvement to come. We see him fitting in as a back end two-year-old and three-year-old type looking to target those classic style races. Important to note he also vetted with low-risk x-ray and clean scope.
