Maurice, regarded as the best Japanese racehorse ever to stand at stud outside Japan, continues to shine as a leading sire. He has sired six Group 1 winners, including the outstanding triple Australian Classic winner Hitotsu and the sensational sprinter Mazu.

In the 2022/23 season, Maurice was crowned Australia’s Champion Third Season Sire and ranked among the top dozen active Australian sires, with earnings of $10.7 million and 11 stakes performers. His top progeny include Group-winning 3YOs Bank Maur and Kibou, Listed winner and Queensland Oaks G1 placegetter Noah ‘N’ A Deel, and 2YO Listed winners Azula and Namesake. Notably, Mazu has won the Sydney Sprint Series and placed third in both The Everest and the G1 T.J. Smith Stakes.

This filly is out of a speedy mare who ran second in the 1100m G3 Widden Stakes at Rosehill, showcasing her remarkable speed. Her pedigree is rich with stakes and Group winners, making her a promising future star. Her 2nd dam, Empress Wu, is a half-sister to Royal Descent (Group 3, Group 2, Group 1 winning mare) and The Warrior Woman (dam of Solidify). Meanwhile, her 3rd dam, Mulan Princess, won six races, including the G2 Hill S., and earned $327,444. She is also a half-sister to Falkirk and Luscilla.
