Godfather was originally purchased by the James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership for $1.1m at the 2022 Gold Coast Magic Millions January Yearling Sale. He was trained by Peter and Paul Snowden and raced on 5 occasions including winning the listed Phelan Ready Stakes on debut on 10 December 2022.

Following purchase by Edge Thoroughbreds, Godfather was gelded, spelled and commenced
training with the Matthew Dunn Racing Stable at Murwillumbah. He has completed two trials for

His half-brother, Sunsets by Dundeel is a stayer who has a Gr3 to his name so far, claiming the scalp of Riff Rocket in the Norman Robinson. He then went on to place in the Gr1 Victoria Derby behind Riff Rocket but will get his chance to capture that Gr.1 victory in Adelaide next month.
