OUTSTANDING BIVOAUC COLT AT FANTASTIC VALUE TRAINED BY ANNABEL NEASHAM

Our Bivouac colt was bred by highly regarded farm Yarraman Park. He caught our eye with his exceptional conformation, beautiful temperament and his great action.

He is a big and strong colt with great balance. Our colt looks to be an early sprinting type with depth to get over 1600m later in his career.

Our Bivouac Colt is Goldmine rated 20/20. A colt with 170 individual Group winners bred on the same breeding patterns including FLYING SPUR (3 x Group 1’s), KING’S LEGACY (2 x Group 1’s) TROPICAL SQUALL (1 x Group 1’s).

He is a direct descendant to Multiple Group 1 Winner,

HONEY RYDER 13 wins, US$2,784,160, Woodbine EP Taylor S., Gr.1, Belmont Flower Bowl S., Gr.1, Sheepshead Bay H., Gr.2-twice, Gulfstream Park Orchid H., Gr.3-twice, The Very One H., Gr.3, Saratoga Glens Falls H., Gr.3, 2d Gulfstream Park Turf S., Gr.1, Monmouth United Nations S., Gr.1, Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf S., Gr.1, 3d Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf S., Gr.1, Calder La Prevoyante H., Gr.2, Gulfstream Park Herecomesthebride S., Gr.3.

Our Bivouac colt has also passed 100% clean on his x-ray, scope and clinical examination.

Sire: BIVOUAC

Bivouac was crowned World Champion Sprinter and Champion Three Year Old after amassing more than $5.6 million in prize money during his career. He retired to stud a 6 time Group winner including 3 at Group 1 level. He was a good 2yo winning the Group 3 kindergaton stakes by 2 lengths, but he was even better at 3, winning 3 times at Group 1 level. He won the stallion making Golden Rose and the Newmarket handicap, just like his sire EXCEED AND EXCEL. He raced on as a 4yo winning the Group 1 Darley Sprint Classic at Flemington by over 3 lengths.

He was fully booked for his first two seasons which represents the service fee of $66,000 for 2023, the highest of any son of EXCEED AND EXCEL at Stud. His progeny averaged over $170,000 during Book 1 of the Gold Coast Magic Millions, just under 3 times his 2023 service fee.

“He was a tremendous horse, and it was no surprise that he was judged the best sprinter in the world. So if people remember that, and people look at him and look at his progeny and realise that’s what he was, and that’s what they are, there’s a lot to like about him.” – Alastair Pulford; Darley Stallions

Dam: SWEET STRIKE

SWEET STRIKE by SMART STRIKE. Has had two foals to race, both being winners including her first foal coming 2nd in a listed race. Her second foal is a 3yo Gelding that won two in a row before running in the Group 1 VRC Derby at 3. He looks to have black-type ability and looks to head back to the races in the coming weeks. Sweet Strike could be 2-2 for black-type performer’s from runner in the coming months.

Sweet Strike is by Champion American Broodmare sire Smart Strike amassing over $296 million in earnings. He has had 180 individual stakes winners.

Trainer: ANNABEL NEASHAM

In 2016, Annabel took up the opportunity to travel to Australia – for what was meant to be a working holiday. She never left, and now can’t imagine being anywhere else.

Annabel started training in her own right in August 2020 and trained her first Group 1 winner Mo’unga in the Rosehill Guineas in under 8 months of training alone.

During her two years in charge of Ciaron Maher’s Sydney stable, Annabel savoured several major victories and assisted in guiding the careers of some exceptionally talented horses including Dubious, Away Game, Prague, Cellsabeel and Etah James.

“Climbing the mountain and getting to the top is difficult but staying there is much harder,” Hawkes once said. “Racing is so competitive these days, there are a lot of good trainers, and it takes a lot of hard work behind the scenes to stay there and not start sliding down the other side.”

The stable has now achieved 25 Black type wins with 7 Group 1’s, 8 Group 2’s. A phenomenal strike rate of 16% with over $22 million in stakes earnings.
