After countless hours of watching breeze up footage, and inspecting 2yo’s, I can proudly say that we have found an exceptional Ready To Run horse that represents great value and loads of quality.

This horse on offer below passed our highly strict criteria. He possess all of the qualities that can make a racehorse great.

ACTION – I was extremely strict and picky when watching the breeze ups. Horses to make my shortlist must have displayed a very good action. I look for a fluent, efficient action with a good length of stride, whilst running comfortably in good time repsective to their pedigree (sprinter or stayer).

PHYSICALITY – Most importantly, the horse must be an athlete! It must have good conformation, well proportioned, well balanced, straight legs, good angles, good knees and hocks, everything working in unison together like clockwork.

ATTITUDE – A willing horse will take you a long way. Having the ability is part of the challenge. A horse’s attitude will bring the best out of it.

VETTING – We only purchase horses who pass our strict vetting criteria, scoping, x-rays and a clinical examination. The horse must present as low risk by our world leading vet Dr Chris Lawler.

VALUE – It’s not hard to find a nice racehorse. The obvious ones stand out, and most of them will make far more money that what I would value them at. Finding a racehorse that ticks all of the boxes and still represents good value is not so easy. I like to offer value together with quality.

This horse below represent these traits perfectly, which is why I can offer him to you with confidence.

On offer is this very well put together gelding by Champion sire and racehorse Darci Brahma (NZ). David was very strict with his selection at the NZB Ready to Run sale this year, especially on the action shown in breeze-ups. This gelding matched and exceeded what he was expecting, running a fast time of 10.47 while demonstrating excellent action with the ability to stretch right out which is exactly what we are looking for in a sprinter/miler. This gelding was a steal in a competitive sale, and this amazing value is reflected in his share price of $2,200 per 2.5%.

Darci Brahma was an absolute speed machine on the race track. He was the New Zealand Champion from 2004 to 2006 and was crowned New Zealand’s Champion Sprinter in the 2006-2007 season. Darci Brahma had an outstanding career on the track with 13 stakes performances including five Group 1 wins, five Group 1 seconds and two Group 2 wins.

He has taken that success to the breeding barn, globally producing 57 stakes winners, 31 of which went on to win at the group level. Over here in Australia his success as a sire has been evident, with an astounding 149 winners from 208 runners at a 72% strike rate.

His leading progeny include G1 Australian Oaks Winner GUST OF WIND, as well as multiple Group 1 winners NASHVILLE and SIERRA SUE.

This gelding is the first foal out of the Dam Flourishing (NZ), who was a 3-time winner in New Zealand. Flourishing is the half-sister of stakes winners AMARYLLIS and PAPILIO.

We are excited to pair this gelding up with trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, who are dominating stakes races across Australia.

David and Ciaron Maher Racing believe that this gelding has all the ingredients for stakes-winning potential. Along with his great pedigree, this gelding backs it up with his nice shape, good balance, clean hocks and his amazing action which is exactly what we look for when buying in New Zealand.

Leading trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace will train this horse from their multiple Group 1 winning stables. Their facilities including their flagship stable in Ballarat, as well as Cranbourne and Warwick Farm are considered the best in Australia and the stable is absolutely flying. This cracking gelding will have no better chance at his career on the track than with them.

The gelding passed all vet inspections from Dr Chris Lawler as LOW RISK. Clean x-rays, clean scope, and clinically sound and in perfect health.

His pedigree, conformation and breeze up suggest that he may be effective as a sprinter and miler type. All signs lead to a successful racing career.
