Haberfield (Deep Field x Sebring Sally)

Gorgeous Filly For Lease From Exceptional Farm

– This quality filly is initially being offered exclusively by the Stable of Stars Racing Club in collaboration with Milburn Creek and Matthew Smith Racing

– As you would expect from a Milburn Creek broodmare there is plenty of black type on the dam’s side in this filly

– Our filly was foaled 13 October 2021 – the same day as our other Milburn Creek filly – Fairhead

– The filly wasn’t offered at the yearling sales with John Muir, her breeder, preferring to keep her as a broodmare prospect when she has finished her career on the track

– The filly has been fully educated and has completed 2 preps with Matthew Smith in his Warwick Farm stables

– She returned to the stables for her 3rd prep on 21 March and she should be getting to the barrier trials at least this preparation…and then off to the races.

– The filly is currently 2 years of age and she has been leased by the Stable of Stars Racing Club until the end of her 4 year old racing season

– We have a further option to extend the lease to cover her 5 year old racing season

– Her Vet Report and X-Rays have come through as ‘low risk’ with nothing to prevent her being a racehorse.

– She has also been scoped with a Grade 1 result – which is perfect!

– She will most likely be a later 2YO but Deep Field has had some very nice 2YOs on the track and Sebring Sally did win at Listed level as a 2YO herself so this filly may get to the races as a late 2YO before developing into a nice 3 and 4YO racehorse

We have seen a dramatic change already in the development of this filly, early days she was a little timid. But recent reports are very positive. They all develop at different stages in life and occasionally we are in the privileged position to make a call much closer to racing then our colleagues.

She’ll still need a little bit of time; she is typical of Deep Field in looks. Her Dam is a listed winner, and group 1 and 2 placed daughter of Sebring (More than Ready, who is a phenomenal broodmare sire)

The farm are incredible breeders and want to retain her for racing which is a privilege for us to be involved in. I expect more dramatic improvement in this lovely lady and can’t wait to see what’s under the hood.
