Introducing ex-Godolphin 4yo gelding BARBER, a stunningly handsome, sprinting powerhouse son of the iconic EXCEED AND EXCEL hailing from a family of racing royalty that has produced ASTERN, ALIZEE and rising star sire TASSORT.

The beauty of this boy is he already has the runs on the board, so you know what you are getting. As a two-year-old, he won the $1 million Golden Gift over 1100m at Rosehill Gardens and then in his next race, won the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude at Sandown also over 1100m. He ran in the Golden Slipper beaten 5.92 lengths by Shinzo but came back to run 3rd in the Group 3 Kindgarten Stakes. His most recent form has seen him win at Geelong, run 3rd at Moonee Valley and his last run on November 9th 2024 was at Flemington where he ran 5th beaten less than two lengths.

BARBER has competed against superstars at the highest level of Australian racing and is still very lightly-raced having only 15 race starts for four wins and three placings, which is a strike rate of 53.8%, and he has plenty left to give.

He will be trained by Richard Litt at Warwick Farm, who has an exemplary record with ex-Godolphin horses, and will be aimed at the 2025 Sydney Autumn Carnival and Brisbane Winter Carnival. Being a Benchmark 87 horse, BARBER will compete at Sydney Saturday and black-type level outside of the carnivals.
