The undoubted training success story of the last three years has been the emergence of the Hayes Brothers training partnership. Ben, JD and Will are the latest generation of trainers for the Hayes Dynasty, and they’ve been exceedingly quick off the mark in establishing their own legacy.

Spearheaded by the EIGHT time Group 1 superstar Mr Brightside the stable is moving from strength to strength. From their state of the art private Euroa training facility, which is complimented by stables on track at Flemington, the winners have been relentless. The 2023- 2024 season proceed 185 winners at a winning strike rate of 16.20% and total prize money over $14 million.

This filly has been purposefully bred with one aim in mind, and that is to produce a quality filly who can stay 2400m and more.

Highland Reel was a Northern Hemisphere superstar. A Champion stayer by Galileo out of Hveger, who was a full sister to Australia’s own Elvstroem and a half sister to Haradasun, Highland Reel took all before him in Europe before heading south to land the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase twice, before also winning the Breeders Cup Turf in the USA. Wouldn’t you like one half as good as him!

The filly’s Dam, Energy Raider was trained by Ben Hayes, and she was a progressive staying mare in the making before injury cut short her promising career. We were thrilled when we called Ben once again to ask if they’d train our filly, and the answer was an immediate “Yes”.

If you like racing stayers then this is your filly. She’s bred to get every inch of 2400m and she could be an Oaks style of filly. A smart mating to boot with the cross scoring the magical 20/20 rating on the G1 Goldmine index. She’s bred on a similar cross to the ultra tough Tanby, and we can’t wait to get this filly into Euroa and for the Hayes boys to get the kms into her legs. Oh, and she’s paid up for the lucrative Super Vobis Incentive Scheme too, which means there’s plenty of extra bonus money to be won on top of the already fabulous prizemoney on offer in Victoria!

From years ago buying the broodmare as a yearling, to racing her, and then to sending her to a stallion that I believe could produce a two miler. That’s my dream. Will you dream with me?
