This imposing son of the Japanese superstar Maurice comes from a deep Group 1 winning pedigree including a stallion at stud in Wandjina, a HK Sprint winner in Inspiration and multiple other Group winners. The colt has all the makings of his sire with a deep girth, plenty of scope and a very correct formation, Maurice has been a real force since standing at Arrowfield with the likes of Mazu going on to win the G1 Doomben 10,000 along with $7.7 million in prize money and Hitotsu being the first horse in history to win both the Australian Guineas and Derby adding to his G1 Victorian Derby which he took out in the Spring of his three-year-old season. The highest rated Japanese sire to stand in Australia now has multiple Group 1 winners in Japan, Australia, and Sha Tin.

The first dam Maracas is by one of the leading broodmare sires in Snitzel, the Arrowfield retained and raced mare was plenty talented being a winning one of just two starts. The mare is closely related to four stakes winners, two of those going on to win Group 1’s both in Australia and overseas. The cross with Redoute’s Choice (sire of Snitzel) mares is outstanding with nineteen winners from twenty-three runners and five of those being stakes winners. The best of which, Hitotsu who as a yearling has a striking resemblance to our colt being very much in the mold of his father.
