Pierro when crossed with Redoute’s Choice mares have amassed almost $18m in prizemoney and a lifetime average earnings index (AEI) of 3.26. This cross has produced 3 Group 1 winners including Arcadia Queens, Regal Power, Levendi with 10 stakes placed winners overall. With an incredible 75% winners to runners and 15% stakes winners to runners, the Pierro x Redoute’s Choice is one of the most successful crosses in racing.

Pierre Cardinnigan was originally purchased as a $380,000 yearling with the intention of exporting to Hong Kong. Whilst he has taken some time to develop and missed his opportunity to run in Hong Kong, he is maturing superbly as can be the case with the majority of Pierro x Redoute’s Choice progeny.

Pierre Cardinnigan is rated A+ by True Nicks and G1 Goldmine identifies horses bred on this cross as being a 20/20 match and having a strong aptitude between 1200m – 2000m and improving with age. The average winning distance for all foals bred on this cross is 1500m.

Pierre Cardinnigan will be trained by Matthew Dunn and based in Murwillumbah. He will be directed at racing in Brisbane, Sydney and more locally in northern NSW and South-East Queensland. Matt is in the top 20 Australian thoroughbred trainers in the 2023/24 season with almost $6m in prizemoney to date and around 20% winners and 43% placings. Matt is also in the top 2 trainers in Australia for return on investment with prize winnings over $5m for the 2023/24 season.

Pierre Cardinnigan has been based with Matt since April 2024 and has had two strong trials before a brief freshen. He is back in the stables now and we expect him to be at the track in the next six weeks.
