Supido is a stallion with a real bit of X factor about him. Retired to stud in 2018 off the back of a decent racing career, always showing plenty however never quite delivering. He did win a Monash Stakes at Caulfield (G3) and run close up in a Lightning and a William Reid however he never really screamed out ‘top stallion prospect’. What he did do however is produce a lot of extremely fast horses in his first crop including Buenos Noches and What You Need, both gallopers of genuine Group One ability. Off the back of that crop his service fee was raised to $19.800 last year from an initial fee of $9,900, with him serving his biggest books the past two years of 170 and 141.
This filly’s full brother, Fine Vintage, has now won four races in NSW so we can see in black and white the genetics work. The filly’s grandam was the multiple stakes-winner Vestey. It’s a terrific family with stakes winners littered right through it, particularly of the feminine variety the like of Jolie Brise, Ready Set Sail, Bonaria and Legally Bay.
The filly is fully VOBIS eligible and Inglis Race Series nominated and looks forward and precocious enough to be making an impression on the racetrack sooner rather than later.
