Two years ago we predicted that Dundeel’s 2020 and 2021 crops would take him to a whole new level of performance.
The fulfilment of that prediction began with his first two million-dollar yearlings sold in 2022. It continued with his 16 2YO winners and 14 stakes performers in 2022/23. And hit home with the emergence of Dundeel’s exceptional 2YO son Militarize, winner of the 2023 Inglis Sires’ Produce S. G1 & Champagne S. G1, followed by the Golden Rose G1 as a Spring 3YO.
Dundeel’s 9 stakeswinners in 2023 also include South Australian Derby G1 winner Dunkel, Group-winning mares Aquacade and Hope In Your Heart, 3YO Sunsets & multiple Listed winner The Inevitable.
Dundeel put himself in the company of Champion Sires Snitzel, Written Tycoon, Savabeel & I Am Invincible when he broke into the top 10 on the Australian General Sires’ Premiership in April 2023.
Three months later he ended 2022/23 in 6th spot on the Premiership with 124 winners and $13.4 million prizemoney – his best season, so far, rounded out with his first stakeswinners as a broodmare sire, Itza Charmdeel & Noah ‘N’ A Deel.
Little more than three months into 2023/24 and Dundeel has made his best-ever season start, with Militarize’s spectacular Golden Rose G1 victory, and Group 3 wins by Ain’tnodeeldun & Sunsets (also 3rd in the Victoria Derby G1). And his star is still rising…
