That feeling that comes when all the investment, hard work and patience pays off. That feeling when one of “your own” crosses that line in first place. It’s a difficult one to describe and if you could bottle it you would, but those who have experienced it and enjoyed it with their team know that it is truly special and not a moment enjoyed quite in the same way if it were purely an individual experience. Horse racing is very much about the people, the participants. Success is not easy to come by but when it does, it’s the people, the participants you have it with that make it so magical.

Troy’s success is not limited to training winners. His judgement of horses and extensive knowledge of breeding and lineage is well renowned within the industry. He is a man Sales company’s want to see at their sales and all the Breeders want to see inspecting their yearlings. In recent years Troy has identified and purchased some very talented stock. He bought hugely successful horses like Starspangledbanner – 4 x Group 1 winner, including 2 International wins (one at Royal Ascot in the UK). He has an imposing record of having selected and purchased 9 Individual Group 1 winners as yearlings who went on to record 17 Group 1 wins. The one exception Linton, who he pursued as an older hors, went on to win the Group 1 Stradbroke under the Malua banner.
