Australia has 2 of the top 10 richest races in the world, however we don’t even crack the top 20 in worlds top rating races? Why is that?
The Saudi Cup, worth $20m USD in prize money, claims the top spot on the worlds richest races. Held in February year in Saudi Arabia, it boasts some of the most luxurious racing experiences both on and off the track for all participants.
Australia make the list twice in the top 10 list with The Everest (3), worth $10.8m, and the time honoured Melbourne Cup (10) worth $5.3m
When it comes to races based on ratings however, Australia doesn’t even make the top 20. The Darley Sprint Classic comes in at 21 and the top Australian race based on ratings. The Juddmonte International Stakes comes in on top which is held at the York race track in Great Britain.
